Drasko's educational background is in Law. His involvement in humanitarian began at Médecins Sans Frontières where he worked for 6 years as the manager for operations on project and country levels in Asia & Africa as well as at the head quarter level. Drasko also worked with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as Technical adviser working on issues of violation of human rights of returnees and IDPs, missing person's issues and preparing field visits on Human Rights to former Yugoslavia, Croatia in particular. Most recently, while working within International Department of Australian Red Cross, Drasko was involved in Tsunami and Kashmir operations working on logistics issues as part of the Tsunami team and the emergency team. Among other experiences, Drasko has firsthand knowledge of a life in a war situation as a civilian and a soldier (former Yugoslavia). Drasko joined RedR Australia as a Trainer in February 2007.
