International Internships
Louise’ prior positions have included Director of Diversity and Community Outreach Initiatives at the UW-Madison School of Nursing; Special Assistant to former UW System President Katharine Lyall; Director of the UW System President’s Initiative on the Status of Women; Senior Institutional Planner within UW System Administration; instructor at the UW-Madison and Edgewood College Schools of Nursing; Chief of Pupil Services and HIV/AIDS prevention coordinator at the Department of Public Instruction; and Administrative Officer at the State Division of Health. Dr. Root-Robbins has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work including the UW-Madison Pfaehler Award for Excellence from the Center for Educational Opportunity; YWCA Woman of Distinction; Margaret Miller Outstanding Community Service; and League of Women Voters Citizen of Distinction for contributions to public health. She holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing, a master’s degree in public health, and doctorate in organization development.
