Antonia lives in Muenster, Germany with her father (an architect), her mother (a physician) and her 18-year-old brother, Jacob. She will be 16 years old and entering the 11th grade when she arrives in the United States for the 2010 fall semester. She is a vegetarian and allergic to cats and dogs. She has no younger siblings but likes children. At home, Antonia helps with household chores, takes the trash out, irons, empties the dishwasher and sets the table. She is planning to bake German cakes for her host family. Antonia’s passion is music. She plays the piano and the clarinet and takes voice lessons. She loves singing. She is not very interested in sports but enjoys playing volleyball and soccer, jogging, swimming, sailing, and bicycling. She also likes going to museums, to the movies, and reading. Antonia is an excellent student in the top 10% of her class. Her favorite subject at school is biology and she plans to study medicine in the future. She describes herself as friendly, intelligent, responsible, tolerant, open-minded and self-confident. She would like to experience life in an American high school and meet students her age.
